PCT 6

Criteria:

Conceptualise, plan and implement an appropriate learning programme

Key indicators:

i. Articulate clearly the aims of their teaching, give sound professional reasons for adopting these aims, and implement them in their practice

In Writing, Maths and Reading each lesson has a specific Learning Intention chosen for the group based off their ability level. These LI's are chosen from either are Prove It to Move It charts or the Riverdale School Writing Matrix which has been constructed to fit our classroom based off the New Zealand Curriculum as well as other learning matrices.

In Afternoon Workshops and Strand Maths the LI's are chosen directly from the New Zealand Curriculum based upon our current focus.

In Explore the larger focus is on Key Competencies which are taken from New Zealand Curriculum and are chosen on what the students most need to work on.

ii. Through their planning and teaching, demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of relevant content, disciplines and curriculum contents

Afternoon Workshops

I have learnt a lot about the different levels and Stages in Reading, Writing and Maths. I understand a lot more about the colour wheel and the different skills that are expected within each colour band. I have also gained a deeper understanding of the skills taught in the different stages of Maths Knowledge and Strategies. I am becoming more aware of the skills taught in the different Writing levels and am continuing to work on the recognising the differences in levels, specifically if it's a beginning, middle or end.
